A bity update from us this week, a few new projects underway and some things to catch up on:
Let's Get Lit - our friday night, light up a skatepark, project is now fully happening. We've had a session at Emerson's and another at Warmley and lights seem to work really well. We'll keep swapping locations between the two until our Xmas break and then add other skateparks to the rota. As well as bringing the lights, we also bring some tunes and hot chocolate has gone down very well too! Pics below:

We are really grateful this week to GSH Projects in W-S-M for donating an emergency bleed kit to the youth centre. These are really valuable resources for the community and whilst we're hoping its never needed, we're happy its close at hand.
We've also been celebrating National Youth Work Week by attending the South Glos Youth Conference on the 7th November. An opportunity to catch some training workshops, share the work of our youth centres and network with colleagues. This years theme was on the 'Art of youth work' and there was a mini gallery on display:
Yate Town Council have opened up a consultation on improvements that will be made to Peghill Skatepark! They want to hear from current or potential users about any changes or upgrades you'd like to see at the now 25 year old park. Head to the survey here
We've also recieved some copies of Drawing Boards - The Book from Ad McEvoy the brains behind the brand. The book charts 20 years of their skateboard art that brings you the eclectic mix of humour, culture, education and fresh ideas, creating a new understanding of the skateboard canvas. Everything from the Tibetan Wheel of life to potions, lotions and brews to soothe all your skateboarding ailements.
We've got a copy available in our shop if you want your own, or one to browse during a skate session
We're really looking forward to the Skateboard GB national STREET championships this Sunday. This year the comp is happening at Ramp1 in Warrington. You can catch it on the SBGB youtube channel live and we'll have the replay rolling on the projector during our public session too.
And lastly! We had an absolute blast on our trip to Spit & Sawdust last Sunday. We had 12 young people and a few from our public and womens beginner sessions too. Spit is such a good park and always good vibes. I was having such a good time I didn't take any pictures or videos! So please share any you may have and I'll chuck em in here:
