This Friday is the last of our Lets Get Lit sessions! Booooooo!

Cadbury Heath sunsets were awesome!
Cadbury Heath sunsets were awesome!

The project was started to provide a couple of hours of light at local outdoor skateparks, and with the clocks springing forward this weekend at the evenings being light until 7:15pm we'll no longer be needed.

What a difference a bit of light makes!
What a difference a bit of light makes!

The project has been an amazing success with 146 attendances over 38 hours of extra light. We've seen young people learn to skate, take on new challenges, learn to cope with their fears and conquer them, assess they own safety and calculate risks, meet new people, engage with local Councillors, and HAVE FUN!

I'm sure the project will make a return in the autumn, but for now there is still work to do. If our project ran 5 nights a week instead of one, we could've increased that number from 146 to nearly 1000! and the easy way to do that is to install permanent floodlights at skateparks.

Over the course of the project we've been chatting to town councils and seeing how we can raise the cash to get floodlights installed and maintained. Obviously this would be great at every park we visited, but we're going to focus on Emersons Green this year and see if we can make it a reality. Stay tuned for updates, and how you can get involved with our fundraising!

Until then, join us Friday for our last one! We plan to make it extra special!
